Compaq problems fixed!

Thanks to the people who sent me some suggestions for the solutions of my
three compaq problems, I fixed all these three today. The following is how:

1) Problem: can't run cmos setup.

download sp1456.exe (diagnostic/test) and sp1363.exe (diagnostic/setup)
from www.compaq.com. Use these two to delete and recreate the diagnostic
partition. There are a lot of other software on this www site as well as
the email address for compaq technical support.

2) Problem: can't return to windows after going to DOS prompt from windows.

run windows video driver setup to replace the old driver which is partly
damaged. We had the same problem before, but the cause was the wrong
version of command.com.

3) Problem: can't install some application programs.

use the two program mentioned in 1) to update the compaq configuration.
