I'm looking at this issue as well. In addition to the two you mention, I'm
also considering the Yamaha mechanism (our graphics department recently
bought one of these). It is available in a 4x read/write and a 4x read/2x
write model. Since the write speed is not a terribly huge issue, and the
price difference is somewhat significant, I'm considering the 4x/2x model.
I'd also be interested in hearing from folks who have implemented a similar
system.
