Corrupt Word Perfect Files?

I have several files that for one reason or the other are corrupt. When
I attempt to open them in WP6.0 DOS they give me an message of either
error 31 or error 23 I assume these are DOS error codes but I have no
idea what they mean. I also had some files convert from text to
graphics files making printing them a very long process. Another thing
I have noticed is that a file which seems to increase in size with each
save of my data files is on my hd and floppy. This file is wp{wpc}.tre
I find no reference to this file in the wp manuals and support for wp6.0
is a long expensive call. The only thing that is unusual about the
files I am trying to load is that a secretary used her initials as the
extensions. I hope you can help as these files represent a considerable
investment in time and resources.
