Virex on Performa 6214CD

I purchased one of Apple's Peroforma's, but have been unable to figure
out what to do with Virex. On booting I always come up with an "unable to
scan, Error 39 message." I have tried to add a "space" before the name
Virex in the Control panel, but no luck.

Recently, I have gotten an Error 39 (end of file) message for the Launcher.
Anyone have any suggestions?
