Obtaining Training in Instructional Design

Hi,
I am a relatively new member to this group. I work at the
University of Guelph, developing educational software. We have just
completed an undergraduate course entitled "Introduction to Aquatic
Ecosystems" It replaces the traditional field sampling course that used
to be offered at the University. Students come into the computer lab,
and learn about various aspects of aquatic environments through a series
of computer modules (ie. fish, chemistry, exotic species). USing
multimedia we can show the students a widde variety of aquatic themes.
These modules include grpahics, video, and testing segments. There has
been some pretty good response by the students, as well as some
hesitation to use the computers. The course will be offered as an open
learning course in the fall and we are anxiously anticipating that
feedback.

My question is this- I have a undergraduate and graduate degree in
science (aquatic/marine) and have been writing the content for this
course, as well as specifying graphics, sound and video to be incorported
into the modules. I am wondering about obtaining some kind of training in
instructional design. Any thought? comments? Where could I go to find
more information about instructional design. I live in Guelph, Ontario.

Thanks in advance for your help.
