Courses incorporating Internet

Does anyone employ the Internet as an integral in-classroom tool, not as lab
assignments? I teach a course in contemporary arts and culture at Northern
Arizona University and would like to have students in the classroom (not
individually at labs) explore technology and the humanities. This seems to be
viewed as radical. Perhaps, if I could present successful examples it would
make life a bit easier. If you could point me to URLs or let me know you own
thoughts and experiences in this area it would be appreciated.
