The one room country school produced my first and most memorable learning
experiences, also. A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to visit a
one room country school house that was very much like the one I attended.
Everything was intact with the exception of the teacher and students.
There is really nothing that can compare with the sense of community.
Everyone came together for "programs". No parent was ever absent and no
child was left out. There is much to be said for this type of education.
One wonders what it might do for some of the ones who fall between the
cracks.
