Title: Roll of Emigrants to the Colony of Liberia Sent by the American Colnization Society from 1820-1843.

Study Description: Tom W. Shick's research looks at the passage of former slaves who were brought to the African colony of Liberia from 1820-1843 under the auspices of the American Colonization Society. Individual level variables include place of origin, place of arrival, status of individual, level of literacy, occupation, date of death, cause of death and name of the ship which carried the emigrant to Liberia.

The data and documentation for this data set and the supplementary data set Liberian Census Data, 1843, are available in Unix tar'd and zipped format, and in self-extracting DOS executable format.
