A minor correction: SSI publishes computer games; SPI (Simulations
Publications, Incorporated) published the board games. The regimental
level games evolved into a series called Great Battles of the American
Civil War (GBACW). Games in the series have been published by several
companies since the guiding light has been Richard Berg, who managed to
keep a handle on intellectual property and moved the rights as game
companies went bankrupt. I am in the process of preparing a much longer
response about Civil War games, but I don't expect to have it ready until
after the weekend.
