Ittah Han inquired re material concerning the last Confederate general
to surrender. He then made reference to Joseph Lancaster Brent. Unless
I missed a major revelation, it was my understanding that the last
general officer to surrender was Stand Waitie on 23 June 1865.
I recall that the recently published _Encyclopedia of the Confederacy_
confirmed this seemingly uncontested fact. Enlightenment requested.
