Responding to a question about my microfilm reader...
I was able to purchase the reader with a small research grant
provided by my university's research foundation. After considering
the "on target" recommendations of UTC's library folk and
checking out some options, I purchased a Dukane MDP Manual Direct
Projection Reader, Model 27A88 with a 13x to 23x zoom lens.
The cost of the reader two years ago was $795. The optional
zoom lens was $150. I strongly recommend the zoom-lens option if
you intend to read old, old documents. Were it not for the ability
to zoom in on the screen, much of what I'm trying to use would be
unreadable.
If I might provide additional information, give me a call or
contact me via this medium.
