CSPAN carried a living history program consisting of the Ottawa debates
plus extensive discussion before and after. The program apparently was
broadcast during the day on Saturday and between 1 am and 4 am (CST) on
Sunday. I finally gave up watching around 3 am. It sounds as if there
will be CSPAN coverage of all of the debates. They advertised an 800
number for a program guide, coffee cup, and showed a teacher's education
packet.
I felt that the program was excellent for the students at community
college enrolled in Civil War History. In fact, I intend to offer extra
credit for my students to attend the Alton (Illinois) debate on October
15th. Other dates that I noted were Charleston on Sept. 17, and Galesburg
on October 8th.
The 1-800 number to order the materials is 1-800-577-8215. If you watched
the program, then why not post a comment?
