Have you looked in Beer's GUIDE TO THE ARCHIVES OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE
CONFEDERATE STATES? There is lots of Medical Director Foard's correspondence,
orders, reports, etc. listed, mainly under "Other Repositories." Of course,
you must remember we're dealing with Confederate records, so there's no
"qick/easy way" to get at anything, it takes lots of puzzling out and
piecing together.

There was a statisical study published in CIVIL WAR HISTORY (?), about
twenty (?) years ago, by WHOM I don't know, regarding casualties and
sickness in the AT during your time period, though I wasn't at all sure when
I read it that the comparison to the Union army's casualties & sickness was
fitting (the apples and oranges thing). But the article contained references
to the official Confederate hospital reports of the period, in any case. Dr
Joseph Jones, of Andersonville and gangrene investigations fame, may have
compiled the records that the author of the article studied.
