Recently a member of this list inquired about the American Military
University. This weekend I noticed an advertisement in _America's Civil
War_ (August) for AMU. AMU is based in Manassas, Virginia, and is now in
its second year. The ad announced the start of a new semester with
expanded course offerings in Civil War subjects. The ad also stated that
"AMU is a distance education institution which offers you the opportunity
to earn an M.A. degree in Military Studies on your own time, regardless
