Subject: CONNECTIONS: for Americanists around the globe; issue #2 in Sept

From: Michael Schreiner <MSCHREIN@ucs.indiana.edu>

The Organization of American Historians and the American
Studies Association, in partnership with a number of American
Studies associations around the world, are preparing to publish
the second issue of CONNECTIONS: American History and Culture in
an International Perspective. For those of you who did not see a
copy of the first issue printed this spring, CONNECTIONS is a
publication in which students and scholars from around the world
can post descriptions of their needs, offerings and interests and
learn about those of others.
CONNECTIONS lists notices of a wide variety of
opportunities: for exchanges of housing and teaching
responsibilities between scholars; for collaborative research
projects; for graduate study abroad; for sharing of books, ideas,
exhibition materials, and course syllabi; for exchanges of
positions by public historians, museum scholars, archivists,
teachers, or others involved with the study of American history
and culture.
The next issue will be published in September and
distributed to Americanists around the world in both print and
electronic forms. If you would like to receive the electronic
version, please send a message to the e-mail address listed
below.
We invite individuals to send postings of their needs,
offerings, and/or interests for the next issue. There is no
charge for submitting an item to CONNECTIONS, but submissions
must be limited to 100 words. The deadline for the fall issue is
August 1.
Individuals sending postings must include their name and
mailing address and are encouraged to include their telephone
number, fax number, and/or e-mail address. Submissions should be
sent to:
