Nancy, My what an interesting topic. The Clan has always been an source of
fascination for me. As an observer not a participant! I have lived in places
where the KKK has been active and have even met many clan types. About robes
and "secret societies" .... the Masons, and military and college fraternal orga
nizations as all older than the KKK and they all use robe to some extent.
Find a Freemason that will talk freely "good luck" but don't quote anybody. :)
The United Methodist Church in Aldie, VA. has a stained glass window dedicated
to the church by the KKK. I can't remember the date on the placque but I think
it is 19th century. I understand there is a lot of clan clowns up in Mancheste
r MD. and even quite a few down in the Suffolk and Ilse of Wight counties in SE
VA. Good luck with the robe search!! HAKL..
