Has anyone encountered any reference to the number of Canadians that
participated in the Civil War? The estimates that I have seen put
the figure from 30,000 to 50,000. Were the bulk of these soldiers from
Upper Canada, specifically from South Western Ontario (London, Windsor,
Niagra Falls)? Were any Canadian commissioned as an officer?
