Replying to Bob Smart on Maryland's comaprative dearth
of Civil War memorials: In Maryland and the Confederacy by
Harvey Wright Newman (privately published in 1976 by the author),
there are photographs of memorials to the Confederate Soldiers
and Sailors of Maryland and to the Confederate Women of Maryland in
Baltimore, as well as of memorials to Confederate volunteers from
Montgomery County in Rockville, from Talbot County at Easton, and
from Howard County at Ellicott City. I don't know whether they are
still standing.
