Eric, A book I have read this past year is I think a must for any retrospectiv
e of R.E. Lee. The book is "Robert E. Lee in Texas" by Carl Coke Rister,
University of Olkahoma Press, 1946. It is not a long read and I believe it to
be a serious albeit short work on the man before the great struggle.
