Subject: Civil War Question
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A patron who's great great grandfather was a Union soldier or officer
during the Civil War. The man was fed pie that contained arsenic or
ground glass by Confederate sympathizers. As a result, he got a
disability pension for chona poisoning or chona disease. The patron
wants to know what chona is. Is anyone in this Listserv knows what
the term mean or could direct me to the proper source. Thank you
in advance for your help.
