CARL includes tables of contents for tens of thousands of
scholarly journals from 1988 to the present. It covers the major
history journals (but misses most of the local and state
historical societies and most non-English titles.)
It includes book reviews.
The search service is free, and open to anyone via Internet or
modem/long distance phone call.
CARL also offers FULL TEXTS of each article, delivered to you
via fax, at a cost of about $10.00 per articles (including
royalty to copyright owner.) You pay by credit card.
Many libraries have CARL online; all of them ought to.
You can access CARL free via the Internet.

You access CARL via
