WFN Programmes

In pursuing our mission to increase women's participation in the political process, increase their numbers in elective and appointive positions, monitor women's contributions and encourage women activism, WFN intends to:

  • build the capacity of women in Nigeria to understand and stand up for their rights and improve their status in society.
  • provide leadership training workshops, seminars, and fora for change on issues and strategies that build both individual and organizational capacity
  • advocate for change in the political arena.
  • identify, articulate and clarify the human rights issues that affect women's lives and strategies that will challenge and overcome obstacles.
  • work with communities at the grassroots and provide fora for women to identify, explore and craft responses to women issues as they emerge.
  • design tools and processes that empower women to understand and exercise their rights,
  • develop strategy, and advocate for changes in legal systems, public policy and resource allocation that respond to their needs.
  • engage in advocacy, working with other organizations with whom we have established relationships and independently.
