Call for Nominations For the Best Article Prize
Best Article on the History of Children and Youth Published in Calendar Year 2007 or 2008


The Society for the History of Children and Youth (SHCY)
is pleased to call for nominations for the best article in English on the history of children, childhood, or youth (broadly construed) published in calendar year 2007 or 2008 in a print or on-line journal. The award of a plaque and a check for $250US will be presented at the SHCY Biennial Conference, at the University of California-Berkeley, Berkeley, California, July 10-12, 2009. Nominations are invited from journals, writers (self-nominations), and scholars. All are eligible for the award, except for current members of the award committee and the executive committee and officers of the SHCY. Nominations must be postmarked by Feb. 15, 2009.

Call for Nominations For the Grace Abbott Best Book Award Published in Calendar Year 2007 or 2008

The Society for the History of Children and Youth (SHCY) is pleased to call for nominations for the best book published in English on the history of children, childhood, or youth (broadly construed) published in calendar year 2007 or 2008. The award of a plaque and a check for $500 US will be presented at the SHCY Conference,
July 10-12, 2008 at the University of California, Berkeley. Nominations are invited from publishers, writers (self-nominations), and scholars. Current members of the SHCY award committee, the executive committee, and officers of the society are ineligible. Nominations must be postmarked by Feb. 15, 2009.
