California State Archives: Through the California Secretary of State. Information on the archives and listings of their holdings.
The Berkeley Digital Library SunSite features a number of online collections, including the Online Archive of California.
CSU Northridge Urban Archives: Documents the history of Los Angeles County by collecting original research materials from voluntary associations and community leaders. Part of their library's Special Collections, which also include a California Studies archive.
Manuscript Collections - California History: Part of the Special Collections at the UC Davis Library.
San Francisco Labor Archives & Research Center: At the J. Paul Leonard Library, San Francisco State University. Listings of its holdings.
Specialized Collections at the Los Angeles County Public Library has information on several archives, including the Californiana Collection.

Information System for Los Angeles (ISLA): A project currently under development at the University of Southern California, ISLA is a digital research archive of Los Angeles materials in multiple information formats for the purpose of research, teaching, and public access.

Sacramento Archive and Museum Collection Center: An archival collection funded by the City and County of Sacramento within the Department of Community and Visitor Services of the City of Sacramento. Their purpose is to "foster, stimulate, and promote the study and appreciation of history in the Sacramento region" and houses documentary and artifact materials relating to the Sacramento region.
Los Angeles: Past, Present, & Future: Making extensive use of the University of Southern California archives, this site opens "a window into L.A.'s rich past and its exciting present and future."

The Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection at the University of Texas at Austin offers a number of California maps, including state, city, historical and park maps.
