Buddhism Section Call for Papers for the 2000 Annual Meeting

Members desiring to propose individual papers or full organized sessions comprising four or five related papers on a given topic, for the year 2000 AAR meetings in Nashville, should send such proposals to either of the section co-chairs: Prof. Jacqueline Stone, Department of Religion, 1879 Hall, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ. 08544. THE DEADLINE FOR THIS IS MARCH 6, 2000.

Proposals are welcome on any topic concerning the history, doctrine, practice, or culture of Buddhism in or across any geographic area. More specifically, there is also, this year, an interest in papers on the topics listed below. Potential proposers with ideas along these lines are urged to coordinate their plans and communicate directly with the persons named in parentheses:

Submissions on topics other than the above are also welcome. All submissions will be considered by the eight members of the Buddhism Section steering committee through a blind refereeing process. Please follow AAR guidelines in submitting your proposals, only be sure to send in the original and EIGHT copies (instead of SIX; the two extra ones are needed since the Buddhism section steering committee has two more members than is usual for AAR sections).
