That's very considerate of you.
The following is the introductory matter for ISSHO-J which you might
like to include for context. Also, please change "became born out of"
with "was born of" in the first line.

* how is H-Japan coming? Prof. Sugita told me that
you have a meeting in Tokyo coming up soon, or has it passed
already?

Greetings.

ISSHO-J was born from two currents.
One was to provide a forum Japan-watchers
to communicate in Japanese about topics which
are taken up in English on lists such as DFS, ISSHO,
etc.

The second is a forum for discussion more closely
related to the foreign national in Japan and the
potential, actuality and problem points of "internationalization"
within Japan's borders.

So far we have had some very creative, progressive
discussion along both currents.

I am concerned that the atmosphere of the list may be
overwhelming to the non-native speaker of Japanese who
is participating. (I write this in English knowing that a
non-native speaker of Japanese doesn't necessarily speak
English, but also knowing many of you who do). And so,
I ask for your comments, advice, complaints and suggestions
so that I and others may know your feelings and consider
your ideas.

Allow me to clarify the following:

*We have no digest capability. (a digest message would
contain all the messages of the day in one long message).
this is an unfortunate reality, in my opinion, and one
we would like to work on in the long-term.

*We have an English language based list, ISSHO, which
you are free to subscribe to by sending a message to :
listproc@ishiilab.dnj.ynu.ac.jp with the message
subscribe issho <yourname>
in the body of the message.
the digest setting mentioned above is the default
setting at this list.

Feel free to send those messages to me directly at
laszlo@apic.com or to the list at issho-j@jca.or.jp .
They can be in Japanese or English.

Thank you!
