SSJ-Forum members in the Tokyo area might be interested to know that on
Tuesday, March 26th, the Ph.D. Kenkyukai will host another presentation at
the International House in Roppongi. Katherine Tegtmeyer Pak, Ph.D.
candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of
Chicago, will be giving a talk with the provisional title, "Entry Controls
vs. a Multicultural' Japan? The Development of a National/Local Rift in
Japanese Immigration Politics."

The talk will begin at 7 p.m., but everyone is welcome to meet, as usual, in
the coffee shop of the International House at 6 p.m. for dinner.

The next presentation will be a special guest lecture by Professor Susan
Pharr of Harvard University on "Political Ethics: Broken Trust." This talk
will be held on April 1st at 7 p.m. at the International House.

The new Ph.D. Kenkyukai coordinator is Julie Gilson, Ph.D. candidate at the
