  1. Answers of list members about the libraries of their university.
  2. The "World of Learning" (1992 edition)
  3. The Internet Guide of libraries by B.Baron and M.-C. Mahe (1993)
  4. The experience of the interlibrary loan service of the University of Paris (at Jussieu) in dealing with foreign libraries.
  5. INTERNET ADDRESSES As far as possible, Internet addresses have been checked; the outcome of such attempts has been indicated in the following way:
     • OK means that the connection has been established and that the library

       catalog could be accessed.

     • YES means that the connection has been established but that (for some

       reason) the catalog could not be accessed.

     • Absence of OK or YES indication means that the connection could not be established.; this does not mean that the procedure indicated is faulty; there are quite a number of reasons which may account for a (temporary) failure: time lag, local holidays, incompatibility of terminals or systems, etc.

We did not detail the exit procedure, since it is almost always possible to exit by hitting the (Telnet) escape key. We did not specify whether for a given library the whole catalog or only part of it is accessible; since the computerization of libraries' catalogs is an on going process such an information would become obsolete very quickly.
