Prof. Laing:
Ralph Houlbrooke has put together a fascinating collection of materials on
English family life that is a companion to his monograph on the English
Family. It was available in paper back last time I checked. Though the
main focus is obviously cultural and social, there are a number of ways
this collection of primary documents can be used to shed light on political
and economic issues.
