I echo the post which noted it can be risky entering any career path.
And let's not forget what a nasty job at formatting a resume can do.
Some of the smallest things might make the difference in our being
hired/not, and in the case that we aren't hired it's too easy to blame
the system. I say take care to present ourselves with professionalism in
every sphere -- resume/vita, dress, speech, writings, phone contacts,
mannerisms. Play on the psychology of the encounter and more often than
not points are scored. I have been hired on superior formatting of
resume alone. Not tooting my horn but saying, hey, little things can
make a big difference.
