I'm looking for recommendations for the best biography of Lord Roberts.
I've been using David James's 1954 "Lord Roberts" but if anyone can
suggest a better source I'd appreciate it. I'm particularly interested in
a work that spends adequate time on the issue of National Service and the
organizations influenced by it. I've used Anne Summer's "Angels and
Citizens" and found it very helpful but would like more specifically on
Roberts.
