CALL FOR PAPERS
PCCBS - SPRING 1996 MEETING
UCLA - 29-31 MARCH 1996
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 1 NOVEMBER 1995
The Pacific Coast Conference on British Studies invites both panels and
individual paper proposals for the 1996 British Studies conference to be held
at UCLA on 29-31 March 1996. The conference particularly welcomes
interdisciplinary panels and those which question the boundaries of British
identity in innovative ways. We welcome papers from any discipline connected
with British Studies broadly conceived.
Please send abstracts of papers, a brief biography or cv, and indication of
dates/times that you would not be able to speak, and some indication of whether
you think there are likely to be any special equipment requirements for your
presentation. Send the packet of information to John Phillips, Department of
History, University of California, Riverside, CA 92521-0204, or via e-mail at
LHR6@UCRAC1.UCR.EDU. It is not possible to guarantee that your preferred time
slots can be met, but the committee will do its best to accommodate special
requests.
Prior to the formation of a local arrangements committee, questions about the
conference may be addressed to Dr. Penny Kanner, Department of History, UCLA,
President of the PCCBS, at 467 Comstock Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024.
CALL FOR 1995-1996 PCCBS DUES
Though many of you received a call for dues in the fall, relatively few
responded. Few responded with dues when prompted by the early call for papers
as well. Therefore, this is to remind you again of the dues for 1995/6 for the
PCCBS. The funds are particularly important given our recent decision to try
to provide additional support for graduate students in the midst of their
dissertation research. Please try not to forget PCCBS if you have not already
sent in your dues. Student dues are $2.50 and dues for faculty members and
others are $7.50.
Please send your dues to the PCCBS Treasurer, John Phillips, Department of
History, University of California, Riverside, CA 92521-0204.
