1. Call for Chairs. In order to telescope the process of
organizing the 31st Congress (May 8-12) at Western Michigan Univ.
(Kalamazoo), I am issuing a Call for Chairs, or at least Chair wannabes.
If you would like to chair a session at the Congress, please send me your
name and the special field(s) you consider to be among your interests. To
help me organize, give the SUBJECT line as "Call for Chairs." Send the

Papers submitted for General Sessions are running slightly higher than
last year.
2. Congress 32 (1997). The dates for the 1997 Congress are:
May 7-11
The deadlines for 1997 remain the traditional ones:
May 15: for session proposals, both Sessions created as
"Special Sessions" by interest groups or individuals AND those
sponsored by Affiliated Organizations
September 15: paper proposals submitted for General Sessions,
which are created by the Program committe
I would appreciate it if Schipper Bill and others who have entree
to other medieval nets would pass the message along.
