In his preamble he refers to "Almighty God the father of heaven who
hath made me and all mankind" - no reference to Christ as Redeemer.
However, it is his list of a dozen special bequests
which puzzle. In each case he refers to "Brother John" followed
by the Christian name and surname of the recipient.
Clearly, the phrase "Brother John" means something,
but what?
Any suggestions?
