As a subscriber to H-Albion and a recipient of online book reviews....
1. Have you found the past H-Albion online reviews valuable? Feel free to
elaborate on your answer.
2. What do you most want to see in an online review: a summary of the
book's contents? the placement of the book in its historiographical context?
an evaluation of the book's strengths and weaknesses? a discussion of how
the book could be used in teaching and further research? Other features?
3. Is speed of delivery important to you? That is, should H-Albion be
stressing the review of books immediately upon their publication?
5. Do you want to see H-Albion feature lengthy reviews (2,000 to 3,000
words) or do you want shorter book notes (100 or 200 words)?
6. Do you want to see ancillary material in the book reviews such as the
table of contents, book blurbs, etc.?
7. What is the format in which you want to receive online reviews? Via
Email, as we now do it? Or, should we use the H-Albion home page on the
World Wide Web, when it is available, for book reviews and ongoing comments
about the books?
8. Is is important to you to be able to search older reviews online? If
so, how do you want to organize access to electronic reviews?
Thanks for responding. I hope we can have a productive discussion about
this topic.
Sincerely,
Sharon D. Michalove, Co-Editor, H-Albion
