Irish Wakes

Can anyone supply details about what went on during an Irish wake in turn of
the century Ireland? And further information about how these wakes might
have been conducted in America, say, in the 1930s? Was the casket of the
deceased brought into the home? How long did the wake last? And at the
conclusion did everybody go to the cemetery for burial???

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.
