Hi Tom. Thanks for that list of Scottish musicians - none of them known
to me except Alexander McKenzie. I don't know why such sons of Iona
should be so neglected.Nor did I know till this minute that John
Broadwood was a Scot. My goodness he has a lot to answer for! The iron-frame
piano and the bagpipe, quite apart from composers that's a pretty formidable
contribution from Scotland. But still, no Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart,
Beethoven, or Berlioz. Why not? Can we blame the English for everything? Ann
