Joyce:
My own research is on Elizabathan and early Stuart predestinarian
thought which inculeds astrology. Any number of extant almanacs
from the period will contain prophecy and this is what Bernard
Capp, English Almanacs 1500-1800. Astrology and the Popular Press
(Ithaca, 1979) examines in part. Another helpful work is Patrick
Curry, Prophecy and Power. Astrology in Early Modern England
(Princeton, 1989). There are also works by the Harvey Brothers
and Thomas Heth regarding the great conjunction.
If you'd like more information on Short-Title numbers for the
almanacs of this period or anything else please feel free to
contact me.
