Would William Doyle, THE OLD EUROPEAN ORDER, 1660-1815 be suitable for your
course? (It's a volume in the Short Oxford History). It came out in a
second paperback edition in 1992. The volumes by Thomas Munck and Jeremy
Black in the history of Europe published by St. Martin's Press are especially
godd, but may be a trifle demanding for some students.
