Another text inquiry

In recent days members of this group have been forthcoming with a
number of good readings ideas for various courses group members are
putting together. Now I need to lean on you all for one. One of the
courses I will be teaching next year will be an upper-level European
history course covering (roughly) the period 1648-1789. Now, I've got
loads of ideas for ancillary texts, but I haven't yet located a
*main* textbook with that sort of periodization. Does anyone have
any ideas? Ideally, I would like to find one reasonably-priced
volume in which students could find the basic narrative, etc., and
which would cover Britain as well as the continent. Does such a book
exist? I'd rather not have they buy two basic texts, or have them
buy one that covers a much longer period (say, 1500-1789) and use
only part of it.
Thanking you in advance,
Michael F. Graham
