Ginger: On Reformation Europe textbooks, the 2 I know best are De Lamar
Jensen,_Reformation Europe_, 2nd edn Heath 1992 (which students feel
comfortable with) and Euan Cameron, _The European Reformation_, OUP, 1991,
which is more
challenging. An excellent collection of documents is Hans Hillerbrand, _The
Protestant Reformation_ , Harper. Among other things I have them read
Ladurie's _Carnival in Romans_ (which they hate) and Schama's _Embarrassment
of Riches_ (which they love); this averages modest approval, or at least that's
my reading.
Good luck with the course. Send me a private note if you want more information.
