Subject: INQUIRY: information about PRO and London

I will be conducting research at Public Record Office (Kew) and
London University Historical Research Institute between 15 March 1995
and 9 April 1995. My topic is British foreign policy toward East Asia,
particularly toward Japan, which affected the U.S. occupation policies
in Japan, 1945-1955. This is the first time to visit London (or
Europe). FO (Foreign Office) documents are available in microfilm
in Tokyo (1945-1948). Consequently, I will not plan to examine
FO documents between 1945 and 1948. I will welcome any suggestion

or are they diposited in various universities? If there are
any scholars/researchers studying a similar subject (US-British-Japanese
relations between 1945 and 1955) in Great Britain, I would like to
know how to contact them. I suppose prof. Roger Buckley is now
teaching somewhere in Tokyo. Thank you.
