Since Edupage readers are computer-savvy citizens of
the Net, we are anxious to know your opinion about modern
technology. As you are aware, a number of recent books (by
authors such as Neil Postman, Jeremy Rifkin, Cliff Stoll and
David Gelerntner) have been sharply critical of various
aspects of information technology. Postman sees technology
as "a dangerous enemy"; Rifkin predicts mass unemployment
caused by computerization; Stoll and Gelerntner suggest
that the information age is causing illiteracy, incivility
and social alienation. So where do YOU stand on these
issues? Please tell us how information technology has
affected you personally, by reacting to the following
question: "My personal everyday life has been made
substantially more satisfying because of information
technology." Send you message (with or without comments) to
one of the following addresses:
A. Strongly Agree. Respond to A@educom.edu
B. Generally Agree. Respond to B@educom.edu
C. Generally Disagree. Respond to C@educom.edu
D. Strongly Disagree. Respond to D@educom.edu
Thanks very much for helping us with this survey. We'll
look forward to your comments and/or your vote!
