MacArthur Awards to H-Netters

The MacArthur Foundation announced 24 "genius awards"
this week. There were two historians in the group, Patty
Limerick (U Colorado) and Richard White (U Washington). Both
are on the editorial board of H-WEST, the H-Net list for
western history, and Limerick is the dissertation director
of Cathy Lavender, a coeditor of both H-WEST and H-AmStdy.
(one other H-WEST editorial board member won a MacArthur a
few years back, Bill Cronon of Wisconsin.)
