I'd like to assess opinions about philanthropy in England during
the 16th century. In order to do so, I'd like to ask readers of
H-Albion to respond (a few words would do) to two questions.
Please send your replies directly to me.
1) In your opinion (no historiography necessary), what happened
to the value and frequency of charitable giving in England
between 1500 and 1600?
2) In your opinion (even a one-word answer would suffice), what
was the primary cause for change (if any) in philanthropy between
1500 and 1600?
