Honors Scholarships in History

Ohio Wesleyan University-Phi Alpha Theta Honors Scholarships are merit
awards which provide a maximum of $14,000 in annual support for up to four
entering students of history at Ohio Wesleyan University. The grants are
annually renewable for 4 years so long as studetns maintain eligibility in
the Phi Alpha Theta honors program and make appropriate progress toward the
B.A. degree i history. OWU-Phi Alpha Theta Honors Scholars will also
receive use of a personal laptop computer while in the program.

OWU-Phi Alpha Theta Honors Scholars serve as editorial assistants with the
Book Review Section of the respected journal, The Historian, pubished by
Phi Alpha Theta. Student editiorial assistants editor, maintain electronic
databases, prepare manuscripts for publication, help identify potential
reviewers, and keep in contact with thousands of historians and publishers
at institutions across the country and around the world.

High school seniors with good communications skills, solid academic
preparation--particularly in history--and a desire to become part of a
nationally ranked history program which emphasizes both the academic and
