History: European History. Avila College, a Catholic liberal
arts college sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph, invites
applications for a continuous appointment position as
Assistant/Associate professor beginning Fall, 1995, to teach
upper division courses in European history and undergraduate
survey courses in World Civilization. Ph.D. in modern European

History: Modern Europe. Johns Hopkins University invites
applications for a position in the history of Continental
Western and Central Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries.
This is a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant or
Associate Professor. Applicants must have completed the Ph.D.

Institution: Washington State University
Location: Washington

History: Modern United States or Modern Europe. Washington
State University invites applications for an entry-level,
tenure-track position at its branch campus in the Tri-Cities
(Richland, Washington). Ph.D. in History, demonstrated
teaching ability, and strong evidence of scholarly potential
required. Field of specialization open, but breadth of
training is preferred. Washington State University-Tri-Cities
is a branch campus of Washington's land grant university with
approximately 1,200 students. The student body is served by 32
full-time resident faculty, supported by adjunct faculty. The
Tri-Cities campus is linked electronically to the statewide
