First Announcement and Call for Papers
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Association for Survey
Computing is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its
Second International Conference on Survey and Statistical
Computing.
The Scientific Programme will consist of both invited and
contributed papers which will be included in the Proceedings
and published prior to the Conference.
Invited speakers will address plenary sessions and will
include:
Colm O'Muircheartaigh
Director, The Methodology Institute, London School of
Economics
Professor Robert Worcester
Chairman, MORI
Contributed papers will be presented to one of four, parallel,
sessions:
o Survey Data
o Survey Analysis
o Survey Results
o Survey Software
Contributed papers will be refereed and will cover all aspects
of survey and statistical computing, including:
o Case studies
o Computer aided interviewing (CAPI, CATI, etc) and data
capture techologies such as Optical Character Recognition
(OCR) and Optical Mark Recognition (OMR)
o Data interchange
o Data management and database design
o Data modelling techniques, statistical algorithms and data
visualisation
o Data quality, editing and imputation
o Meta-data and survey documentation
o Networking technology and its impact
o Sample and field control
o Secondary data
o Statistical languages
o Survey and questionnaire design
o Survey systems
Interested contributors should send a brief (maximum 500 word)
abstract, including title, relevent keywords and an indication
of the the parallel session into which the paper would best
fit, to:

October 2 Notification of acceptance sent out

of papers for review

May 10 Deadline for receipt of camera-ready
copy of papers for inclusion in
proceedings

The official language of the Conference will be English.
