NEW BRITISH LIBRARY TELEPHONE NUMBERS

The British Library is changing all its +44 71 323 (London)
telephone numbers to a +44 71 412 prefix on 1 January 1995;
nationwide changes, whereby an extra "1" is added to most UK
area codes, come into effect on 16 April 1995.
Dual running of the old and new national codes will come into
effect from August 1994 to 16 April 1995. That means for this
period 0171 and 071, 01937 and 0937 numbers will get through
successfully. From 16 April only 0171 and 01937 numbers will
work.
Similarly, during the period August 1994 to April 1995 users of
the Library dialling either 323 or 412 will get through
successfully. From April 1995, 323 calls will continue to get
through, but the Library will reduce considerably its capacity
for taking them.
