Surely, Anne Killigrew must be referring to the puritanical
morals legislation passed by the "Rump"Pparliament in the period
1648-50--for example, the law passed on 10 May, 1650, making adultery,
fornication, etc., capital offences. For details see ACTS AND ORDINANCES
OF THE INTERREGNUM. At the Restoration, of course, all of that
legislation became null and void.
